Surprise Donations for Animal Shelters in Kansas City

on April 30, 2022

On April 29th, Mission Driven had the honor of joining our friends from Westlake Ace Hardware to celebrate "Adopt a Shelter Day.

They visited three (3) Kansas City animal rescue groups to deliver a big surprise to each shelter. The surprise included hundreds of dollars worth of treats, a check for $2000, and a big thank you to the volunteers for their hard work and dedication.

It's safe to say they made some people and pets smile.

Thank you to the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City for nominating Scott Poore for this award!

Imagine Furever Ranch is an "open, couch-filled space for senior dogs to call home until they get their FURever homes. It's YOUR ranch too! Join their mission at this beautiful place designed for people to gather together, love on the doggos, volunteer and have fun!"

Great Plains SPCA is "one of the largest No-Kill animal shelters in the Kansas City area, serving Johnson County, Kansas, and the surrounding area. We offer comprehensive resources for pets that strengthen the relationship between pets and their human companions. Serving nearly 4,000 pets annually, Great Plains SPCA works to save, protect, and improve the lives of animals by providing humane sheltering, adoptions, unparalleled behavior and training, and the HERO team's humane community outreach. Great Plains SPCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization."

Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption is a "licensed, non-profit animal shelter founded in 2011 that works to save the lives of homeless pets and strives to improve the image of bully breeds in society.

We work daily with local high kill shelters throughout the area to pull “unwanted” pets to safety. We work to find homes for pets of all ages, health, temperaments, and history. Each adoptable pet is given the opportunity to thrive."

A big shoutout to KCTV5 News Kansas City for sharing the day with them and featuring it on the news! Watch the news segment here.
