Twenty Percent

Twenty Percent

Recovery is possible. Hope is powerful. You are not alone.

Twenty Percent exists to break the silence around addiction, amplify stories of healing, and offer real support through storytelling and recovery resources.

But we’re not just here to represent the 20%. We’re here to grow it.

Born out of one man's journey from addiction to purpose, Twenty Percent stands with the 20% of people who stay sober—and fights for the 80% still in the struggle.

Our mission is to shift the statistic—so more people stay sober, more lives are restored, and the 20% becomes the 40%, the 60%, and beyond.

We believe:

  • Sobriety is worth it.
  • Healing is possible.
  • You are not your past.
  • You don’t have to walk alone.

Recovery is real. Redemption is possible.
And your story is NOT over.

Twenty Percent

Why Twenty Percent?

On my first day in alcohol treatment, a speaker said something that stuck with me: 80% of people who go through treatment will relapse. That means only 20% stay sober.

For years, I used that statistic as an excuse — a way to justify slipping back into old habits. I told myself I was just part of the 80%.

But this time was different.

This time, I chose to see that number not as a warning, but as a challenge. A goal. A reason to fight for the life I wanted.

I decided to become part of the 20% — and that mindset has become the foundation of my sobriety.

Today, I’m proud to say I’m a member of the Twenty Percent Club.

Twenty Percent was created to honor the courage of that 20%, to reach the 80% still struggling, and to say to everyone in recovery or on the edge of it: This life is still yours.

Scott’s Story: From Numb to New

“One year sober. One year present. One year alive.”

I’m Scott—and I am in the twenty percent.

A year ago, I was using alcohol to survive. I didn’t drink for fun. I drank to escape— from the grief of losing both of my parents, from the weight of watching animals suffer in rescue work, from the guilt of the ones we couldn’t save.

Alcohol didn’t ease the pain. It numbed my purpose. It blurred my vision. It stole my clarity, my leadership, and my love for the life I'd built.

Then one day, I made the hardest and most hopeful decision of my life: I asked for help.

I stepped into recovery. I found a community that wouldn't let me fall. I started healing- not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.

Sobriety didn’t just give me freedom from alcohol—it gave me myself back. It gave me purpose. Peace. Presence. Passion. And now it's giving others hope.

That’s why I created Twenty Percent. To be a reminder that recovery is real, that people can change, and that your hardest chapters may lead to your most powerful mission.

You are not broken.
You are not alone.
You are not done.
