Rural Animal Shelter Food Drive Was a Huge Success

A week ago, Clinton Animal Shelter had eight bags of pet food left on their shelves. With the community's help, we were able to turn those empty shelves into overflowing with dog and cat food.

Imagine being a rural animal shelter with all your kennels filled with homeless pets. You walk into your storage area where all the pet food is kept and find five dog food bags and three cat food bags. You realize this is not going to last long.

Resources are tight in most animal shelters. You have diligent, loyal, hardworking staff and volunteers who devote hours to taking care of all the pets. You have faithful people in the community who come in to adopt a pet. But what do you do when one of your most valuable resources is almost gone.

Scott loves working with the volunteers at Clinton Animal Shelter and heard that they needed some help. He jumped into action.

He had them create a wishlist on Amazon with all their needs. And then, they worked together to share this need with the community.

Between Clinton Animal Shelter and Mission Driven's social platforms, the community did what it does best, and it provided. Their storage area is filled with pet food, and the supply will take them all the way through summer. Their staff and homeless pets couldn't be more thankful.
